The late summer Central Oregon sunshine warms my shoulders, facing East, after our instructor, Kelly Nye, expertly anchors our paddleboards by the calm banks of the Deschutes River. I take balasana, Child's pose, the pose of all beginnings. This is the first time I practice yoga on the deck of a SUP and I am grateful to be here with strong women I trust to inspire and show me the way.

Exploring balance and integration along with the element of water, revealed deep insights in a playful way. SUP Yoga is for everyone who enjoys movement, the outdoors and challenging new experiences. Tumalo Creek Kayak + Canoe of Bend Oregon provided all of the equipment and expertise required for an enjoyable adventure. I felt safe the entire time and I am not a master SUPer. Kelly’s yoga instruction was both empowering and playful.

SUP Yoga deepened my connection with nature alongside the most glorious backdrop for a studio. I got to play outside while strengthening and mobilizing my muscles and joints. All this while breathing in the fresh mountain air. I stuck my first SUP Sirsasana at the end of practice. Stoked! I plan to purchase a season pass next year!
